This National Tree Day, join Greening Australia and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service to help restore endangered Box-Gum Woodlands near Gundaroo. Our work in woodlands is vital for the survival of our woodland-dependent fauna, and you can be a part of this positive work. We will hear from experts about how this work contributes to the overall story of woodland restoration in the region.
To celebrate World Environment Day, this year we will be hosting a planting on Sunday 2nd June.
We will be planting in the beautiful Blundells Flat area, in the Cotter Catchment. This planting marks the beginning of the maintenance phase of work in the Lower Cotter Catchment. We will be working in two small areas which have not recovered after the 2003 bushfires. Due to the smaller nature of the sites, volunteer numbers for this planting will be limited. This will be a bus-only event, so RSVP is essential.
Help Greening Australia, Murrumbateman Landcare Group, Yass Valley Council and the RTA improve local habitat and diversity.
Due to the location, participant numbers are restricted to 45, and transported by bus provided by GA.
Greening Australia Capital Region and UMCCC invite you to experience Whole of Paddock Rehabilitation (WOPR). Come and see how native trees and shrubs can be integrated into grazing paddocks to improve both production and conservation. RSVP by 7 October 2011 essential. Morning Tea and Lunch will be provded.
UMCCC Members with 4WD vehicles are asked to contact Pauline Carder. UMCCC will coordinate carpooling from GA in Aranda. Costs can be reimbursed.
For more information and to register, see the attached flyer.
